Introduction

Park View Primary School caters for children from age of nought to eleven years.  Your child can begin in our Educate centre as a baby, enter our Nursery after reaching his or her third birthday and attend on a half-day basis.   Your child can then enter our Reception class in the September of the school year in which they reach their fifth birthday.

The school has an admission policy for the Nursery and School, a copy of which is given to each parent when making application for the first time.

We offer 45 places in each year group in school while the nursery can accommodate 52 part-time places.

We will have approximately 400 children in our School and Nursery during 2006/2007.

Most of the main building of the school was built in 1935 to serve the neighbouring overspill council estate, but operated as two separate schools (Infant and Junior) until 1990 when the two schools were amalgamated.  In September 1992 a new teaching block was opened in response to the rapid increase in numbers.  A new canteen with kitchen was built in 1998.
The school also has its own swimming pool.  A new 0-3 Nursery was opened in July 2005.  This unit will also offer before, after school and holiday sessions for pupils.

The ethos of our School encourages independence, self-discipline, and respect for others and an enthusiasm for learning.   We encourage our children to develop values, interests and ultimately beliefs which will enable them to lead useful, fulfilled lives in harmony with others of all cultures.  Each child has equal opportunity to receive an education of quality in an exciting and lively way.
