NHLC teachers discovered a thing or two about writing successful stories and poems at a recent weekend residential which gave them a chance to develop innovative new projects to take back to their classrooms.
As well as discovering the importance of bringing real life writers into school, delegrates had the chance to take part in a poetry workshop with best selling author Mandy Coe. An evening of poetry readings gave everyone an opportunity to explore the different ways the subject can be taught.
'Everyone has gone back to school bursting with new ideas on making poetry more accessible to our pupils' commented Ben Owens (Access to Learning Coordinator). 'It has been an amazing couple of days!'
