Since it began one of the driving forces of the NHLC has been to share information and expertise across our schools. North Huyton schools are an enormous pool of knowledge, experience and specialism - which has been brought together with the introduction of the Intelligence Hub.

'The Intelligence Hub brings together teachers and support staff across the NHLC to share their skills, knowledge and expertise' explained Educational Consultant, Carole Clancy. ' From writing to maths, we are putting together a programme of activities which will ensure North Huyton teachers and support staff are at the cutting edge of education. As well as sharing their own knowledge, they will have the opportunity to talk to experts.'

The Intelligence Hub began in October 2009 when schools from across Knowsley met to hear leading speaker Bruce Potts discuss the Government Review of the Primary Curriculum.

Other workshops like Mandy Coe's (Mandy pictured above with Access to Learning Coordinator Ben Owens) 'Writers in Schools' workshop have looked at how professional authors can make a big impact in the classroom. ' I'm delighted to be a part of this project' she said. ' I work in lots of organisations across the country and the Intelligence Hub has the seeds of a very positive resource.'

This was followed by 'Journey into Language through Drama' with Jane Considine and Paul Bunyan (Literacy Consultants from The Training Space) which discussed using role play to bring books to life. Additionally the 'Communication Friendly Spaces Showcase' shared some amazing ideas on transforming Early Years classrooms.

One of the most recent Intelligence Hub events launched a booklet developed by the NHLC which is full of ideas on creating enjoyable writing experiences across the curriculum' This is the beginning of a new phase of knowledge sharing which will give children the most up to date teaching' concluded Carole Clancy. ' It is a very exciting time for North Huyton.'
